ATMA/ARBA/FIC Ch. Formosa-Drakyi Simba

ATMA Ch. DRAKYI Rebel-lion x Denali's Tsunami
Jan. 18, 1993. OFA GOOD. 30", 165 lbs. Gold.

SIMBA, a seventh generation DRAKYI line-bred dog, has become the focus and foundation of our breeding program, and is one of the most influential Tibetan Mastiffs in pedigrees today around the world. A double grandson of the breed great "Maynard," harkening back to the fabled giant Tsang Khyi variety, Simba and his get have set new standards for size, bone, head type, and temperament in the breed.   He was ATMA's National Specialty Stud Dog winner for 1995 and 1996, and ALL the Westminster Best of Breed and Group winners are linebred on him. Simba represents the ideal Tibetan Mastiff as the cover dog for the breed book, The Tibetan Mastiff, Legendary Guardian of the Himalayas, by Rohrer and Flamholtz, and is profiled in the breed DVD, "The Magnificent Tibetan Mastiff."

A tribute to....

World/Multi Ch. Drakyi Senge Sundari

Our Euro export SENGE is a classic example of the Drakyi ideal, linebred on our foundation male, Ch. Formosa-Drakyi SIMBA.  He stunned the TM world when he won Best of Breed and became World Champion at 16 months from the junior class at the 2003 World Show in Dortmund, Germany, under renowned mastiff specialist Christofer Habig.  His critique: "Sensational.  Authentic.  Head-type excellent, movement exceptional, expression very intense, balance typical, with unusual [large] size.  Simply marvelous, very pleased...my World Show surprise."  Senge was the right dog at the right time, and his influences have revolutionized Western breeding programs, with his progeny serving as the foundation for many influential TM kennels.  Senge is the sire of many top-winning dogs in the breed, including our LOKA, the 2008 AKC National Specialty Best of Breed.

BISS CH Lafahhs Lokapala Drakyi, LOKA

LOKA, the top-winning TM female in AKC breed history.  She was the 2008 AKC National Specialty Best of Breed!!!  She was also AKC's #1 Tibetan Mastiff in the US for 2007, the AKC 2007 National Specialty BOS, an Award of Excellence winner at the 2007 Eukanuba Tournament of Champions, an Award of Merit winner at Westminster 2008, and an AKC multi Group winning and Best in Show favorite of judges.  The daughter of TWO World Show winners (our World Ch. Drakyi Senge Sundari x World Ch. Vajradhara ni a Soechavati), LOKA brings the soundness, substance and type from her Drakyi sire, and the eye-catching balance and movement from her European dam.  LOKA made her debut at the 2005 TMCA National Specialty weekend, owner-handled by Richard Eichhorn, taking Winner's Bitch at the National AND Regional Specialties, and won the coveted 2005 National Specialty Best Puppy in Sweeps.

TMCA Premiere/ARBA/Master Ch. Drakyi Nahkote, "BEAR"

Owned and handled by the late Peggy Hervatine, Bear and Peggy were fixtures in the Group and Best in Show ring.  The gold sable Bear was the largest of TMs to be seen in the ring at that time, impressing judges with his beauty, type, presence and soundness.
